Peta Bridle: Drypoint Prints
Two prints by Peta Bridle using the dry point technique. This involves drawing directly onto a surface, called the plate, with an etching needle and then making a set of impressions from the inked plate. Here the artist used two perspex plates, each measuring 150 x 198mm, for these images of 31 Fournier Street, one of the house and the other of the garden. This house was the home of the well known Spitalfields resident Rodney Archer until his death in 2015.
Each print is in an edition of five - the House print is on 300 gms Hahnemuhle (Natural) etching paper and the Garden print is on 285 gms Fabriano Rosapina paper. Both prints have been framed in Conservation grade window mounts using board which is a close match to the paper colour. The moulding is a flat 12 x 20mm Tulipwood, hand painted in Mole's Breath by Farrow & Ball. They are both glazed in Water White float - a superior glass with very little colour shift. The framed prints each measure 365 x 395mm. Both these prints are for sale, there are four remaining copies of the garden print.
