The Peabody Buildings, Commercial Street E1
Wood engraving from the Illustrated London News, 1863.
Wood engraving from the Illustrated London News, 1863.
Framed for a member of the Spitalfields Society, the print depicts the Peabody Building in the 19th century. The moulding used is a custom made 15 x 15mm flat profile in Sapele wood, which has a beautiful red tone. This was enhanced with a red brown tint and coloured wax, which gives the frame an aged look.
The Conservation window mount has a slight pink tone which is a close match to the paper of the print. This work is glazed using Conservation glass, and the frame size is 300 x 385mm.
