Shelf Frame
This unique shelf frame was commissioned as a birthday present. It was designed to hold a small watercolour and a music score on the theme of 'eyebright' which were gifts in themselves.
Both items are feather floated on off-white conservation grade board within a box frame. Here the moulding we used is poplar wood, in a flat 15 x 32mm profile. We then added a shelf to display small ceramics or an essential oil burner. The frame and shelf were hand painted using Lichen from the range by Farrow & Ball.
The shelf has a glass insert which is 310 x 100mm in size. The box frame has hand cut matching 15mm spacers and it is glazed with anti-reflective and anti-UV glass. The size of this frame measures 600 x 320 mm, and the depth with the shelf unit is 145mm.
