Anniversary Plate

For this centenary plate depicting a Welsh school, our client requested that both sides of the plate should be visible.
The poplar wood frame is lined with custom cut 6mm MDF strips which act as a spacers and also hold the plate in position. The spacer, plus the frame itself, has been hand painted in white earth pigment emulsion which has a gesso like finish. The frame is glazed with premium 2mm float glass.
The moulding profile is 20 x 48mm and the overall size is 245 x 250 x 48mm.
