Papercut by Weina Zang
A papercut based on a a traditional Chinese story by Weina Zhang.
The delicate hand cut image has been feather floated using a sheet of glass as a base with an off white Conservation board behind the work. This both emphasises the object quality of the piece and allows for the projection of shadows behind the artwork. There are two sets of 12mm deep spacers inside the frame.
The Tulipwood moulding for this Box Frame was fabricated in the studio, it measures 11mm on the face and is 32mm deep. The frame, which is 570 x 400 mm, has been hand painted with Incardine and Downpipe both by Farrow & Ball. The inner glass is Water White, the outer glass Conservation.
