Papercut by Weina Zang
A papercut based on a a traditional Chinese story by artist Weina Zhang.
The delicate hand cut image has been feather floated using a sheet of glass as a base with an off white conservation board behind the work. This both emphasises the object quality of the piece and allows for the projection of shadows behind the artwork. There are two sets of 12mm deep spacers inside the frame.
The poplar wood moulding for this box frame was fabricated in the studio, it measures 11mm on the face and is 32mm deep. The frame, which is 570 x 400 mm, has been hand painted in Incardine and Downpipe, both by Farrow & Ball. The inner glass is float glass and the outer glass conservation grade, with 99% UV filter.
