This small, delicate painting by Pip Tunstill has been framed in a composite tray frame.
First an inner frame was made to create the tray for the painting to sit within. A second frame then goes on top of this to make the composite.
The inner frame was painted by hand using Peignoir and the outer frame used Ammonite. Both these colours are by Farrow & Ball and were chosen in close consultation with our client. Lastly the frame was fitted with a small spacer and glazed with AR/UV 70 Glass. This specialist glass has a low iron content (minimum colour shift and excellent transparency) plus an anti-reflective coating allowing the fine detail to be seen. The glass also has a UV filter to help preserve the colours from light damage.
