Two Photographs by Karen Colley
Facing North
2004 Archival Inkjet print on Fine Art Paper Edition of 10 © Karen Colley 2004 This photograph has been mounted on 5mm Foamex then feather floated in a Box Frame. The 13 x 37mm Tulipwood moulding is painted with Skylight by Farrow & Ball.
The Conservation mountboard is slighly off white and the frame is fitted with 20 mm custom made spacers faced with the same board. The glazing is Museum glass, both to protect the print from light damage and, as the print is dark, to minimise reflection. The size of the frame is 610 x 900 mm. |
Five Birch Trees
2014 Salt Print on Arches Platine Edition of 25 © Karen Colley 2014 This is a salt print, a photographic technique pioneered in the Nineteenth century, printed by the artist.
The image is 150 x 215mm and it is framed in a 15 x 37mm Maple moulding. The Conservation window mount has a slight pink tone which works well with both the print and the natural colour of the Maple. The glazing is Museum grade allowing the fine detail of the print to be clearly seen. This frame is 360 x 400mm overall. |
