Japanese Woodblock Prints
A group of four coloured Japanese woodblock prints.
These four frames use the same profile, a flat 13 x 13mm. The two prints of women are a pair and have been framed identically with a window mount in Conservation board chosen to match the pale yellow cream of the prints. The Tulipwood frames have been hand painted using Farrow & Ball's Railings - a dark grey with a blue cast.
There are two prints by Hiroshige Ando (1707 - 1858). The 'Temple' print is framed in Tulipwood but here the frame is stained a reddish brown and the mount is off-white.
The second Ando print, 'Shower', is framed in American White Oak with a natural finish. The window mount is a deep creamy yellow. All these prints have been glazed in Conservation glass in order to protect them against light damage.
