This still life measuring 260 x 200mm was bought in for reframing. The moulding chosen to replace the original heavy black frame is an ash wood, 30 x 20mm, profile with a fluted groove.
The frame was hand finished and painted using Stony Ground by Farrow & Ball. The original obeche wood inner frame, which serves to keep the glass away from the surface of the painting was retained. We repainted this in Strong White, again from Farrow & Ball.
The finished frame is 330 x 280mm overall.
